During renovations it became necessary to take down and re-build the larger of the two barns (Ivy and Berry cottages). The stone and other materials were reclaimed from the original building and used in the rebuild. The new building has been constructed as closely as possible to the original whilst allowing us to incorporate better facilities for our less able guests, please see accessibility for more information. Each cottage has its own enclosed garden with garden furniture etc.
All cottages have television, DVD, VCR, & Stereo CD players and also a selection of books and games. The kitchens have a small stock of cooking sundries, and we will fetch your first grocery order from the shop on request, so it is ready for you on arrival. We include a supply of cleaning materials, toilet rolls and so on in the price.
There are no additional charges for
electricity and oil (or gas for Holly) and we provide a supply of logs for Ivy &
Berry. For laundry requirements there is a washer-dryer in each cottage, with an
iron and ironing board. There is a line and pegs provided outside.
Leisure Facilities
The Plough and Plough Cottages are situated on a two acre site and we have a designated safe play area for children, including adventure play facilities, swings, sandpit, playhouse and boat. Dogs are excluded from this play area but there is a large area where responsible owners are welcome to exercise their dogs or where responsible dogs can exercise their owners! We have a tennis court in the process of being completed and plenty of space for ball games.
Barn Ingli
In the corner of the children’s play area is Barn Ingli, housing indoor facilities for all ages including pool table, table tennis and other indoor games and activities.
Although in its early days, our garden and summer house are open to all our
visitors and are a good place to relax and enjoy wonderful views across the
village to the surrounding Preseli Hills. Ducks, Geese and Hens are now in
residence at the Plough, the duck pond is safely
fenced off away from the children's play area.
Kayaks
We have Ocean Kayaks and are happy to hire them out for a small daily charge. They are great fun for all ages and much easier and safer to use than traditional canoes/kayaks. Buoyancy aids provided free of charge.
